Yes! It most certainly has been a while since my inaugural post here at workwithnate.com. Some have asked me via other Social Media, “Nate…where have you been? Have you abandoned your blog?”
The answer is yes. And no.
Yes! I temporarily DID abandon this blog, I guess, but for good reason. My first post after beginning workwithnate.com was about time. It was a simple, entry level, message about time utilization (although very powerful if applied), but that post was the gateway to a reinvention of my own thoughts concerning how I spend my own time.
Now, this post is not going to be an exposé about my personal reinvention on time philosophy. But I will share the current impact it has been having on my daily Action List.
Reflecting back on my education concerning Time Optimization, included among the forefront of my influences is a chief mentor of mine, Dani Johnson. It was through her First Steps to Success platform that I first learned to value the concept of doing each day what is most important…those things at the top of my Action List that absolutely must get accomplished.
As a result of my revisitation to this core foundational principal, I purposefully laid aside this blog for a while in order to focus on the building of my personal financial empire. It was the absolutely the right choice!
During this time, not only did I set aside this blog, but I laid down several other priorities in order to pursue what was most important for the future of our family. For instance, all yard work: out. Fixer-up projects around the house: nada. Hobbies of any kind: zilch.
I decided that my top values were my Faith, my family, and my health. As an outflow of these core values grew my daily Action List, which, I must say, became a very short list. Worship, quality appointments with my wife and/or children, focused exercise, and doing only the activity with my home business that makes money. (In other words, no organizing my desk, alphabetizing my contact list, or small talk on the phone with my organization during work hours).
Now I have to admit….I second guessed, even triple guessed, taking the time to blog this article today. But I felt pressed that there was a message here that could resonate with some of you closet time wasters out there.
So yes… Workwithnate.com remains unfinished. Unattractive even. Incomplete. Without bells or whistles. Even without a broad span of content as of right now. All I know is, my empire is alive and well, and my priorities are in order. My strong relationships and explosive business testify so.
So, I hope your blog is beautiful and has both bells and whistles. But more than that, I hope your daily Action List is in line with your core values.
Here’s to living well.
